Taxes!

This is an important reminder that your federal taxes are due by April 18, 2022.

Why is this important now? Because having a tax credit through Marketplace makes it a requirement to file taxes and reconcile your 2021 premium tax credit (PTC).

You should have already received your Form 1095A in the mail. Use it to reconcile your 2021 PTC when you file your taxes. Not doing so could jeopardize your future tax credits.

Due to the continued impact of the 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) public health emergency, as well as a change passed by Congress under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, there is some temporary relief. However, this  temporary relief does not change the general requirement for taxpayers for whom APTC was paid in years before 2020 to file their taxes and reconcile the APTC with the PTC allowed for the year. Read more about this guidance here.
