“I was smart enough to go through any door that opened.”

This was a quote from Joan Rivers.

Joan Rivers was a legendary comedian and the second female to have her own talk show. She said that Ed Sullivan had made her career and it was a fluke that she went on the Ed Sullivan Show on May 22, 1966, and then became a regular.

She had the opportunity to script write for the famous Italian Mouse, Topo Gigio.

For almost 50 years, Joan Rivers was a household name and became one because she took every opportunity that was presented to her.

What opportunities have you come across that you’ve not taken? Was that the best choice? Do you regret not having taken that leap?

Things were not always perfect for Joan Rivers, but she had a great career and paved the way for other comedians. It’s not always about making it big, but if it can an opportunity to learn, grow, or make a difference, why not take it?
