2022 Travel Restrictions

Are you planning on traveling or want to begin to plan some travel in 2022? Some may want to wait another year before planning a trip. But, if you are one that wants to travel, here are some tips from experts about planning for 2022

“Book something you can cancel,” said Dr William Hanage, associate professor of epidemiology at Harvard’s T.F. Chan School of Public Health. “Then reassess when your trip is closer. Remember, it’s not only about the chance of being infected, but also the chance of restrictions being implemented wherever you are vacationing. It wouldn’t be fun quarantining for a substantial portion of your stay.”

Buy Travel Insurance that covers Covid (not all do). The wording should be to be able to change/cancel for any reason.

Don’t travel if you are not vaccinated. This is not because of what I feel or believe, it is because more countries are requiring vaccination prior to allowing you to enter the country. Some may still impose quarantine for a certain number of days.

Take a road trip. You may have more flexibility if you drive. This means possibly staying and supporting local businesses.

US-Canada-Mexico Non-Essential Travel Restrictions through 01/21/2022. This restriction has been in place since 3/21/2020. Homeland security announced that they intend to lift the limitations to those that are fully vaccinated, but no date has been set.

If you are traveling to Europe, you will find much stricter restrictions.

Keep in mind that travel restrictions and changes are happening constantly. Depending on where you will be going and how you will be traveling, stay up to date on requirements and be stay flexible.
