Visitor Kiosk Opens off I-5 Milepost 281

If you are traveling to the Portland Metro area and need a place to stop and rest, Milepost 281 is the place to do so.

Milepost 281 is 12 miles north of Woodburn and just south of Wilsonville, which is 19 miles south of downtown Portland.

On Monday, May 4, 2015, this rest stop, also known as the French Prairie Rest Stop, had a ribbon cutting ceremony with Oregon Travel Experience, to unveil the newest state of the art kiosk.

This kiosk has a plethora of options in finding places to see, places to stay, places to eat, things to do, as well as directions to get to these locations. You are able to print information or send it to your smart device. As technology progresses, new features will be added.

Additionally, if you still like the ‘old fashion’ way of finding places, you will find the traditional paper pamphlets.

With over 2 million people stopping at this rest stop each year, this new kiosk will be a useful tool in reaching the tech savvy visitors and guiding them to places that they may not know exist in the beautiful and lush state of Oregon.

Even if you are a local resident, as you travel I-5 Northbound, be sure to stop by the French Prairie Rest Stop on Milepost 281, before you reach Wilsonville, and check out the kiosk. Play around and see if you, too, can find local treasures to check out.
