Traveling to OR or WA and Need a House Call?

Providence Health eXpress is a new 21st century house calls in Oregon and Washington.

This service is a low-cost way of obtaining medical evaluation without having to see a primary care physician or waiting in Urgent Care or Emergency.

If somebody travels to Oregon or Washington, they will be able to use these services as the providers are licensed in these two states.

During a recent seminar, Michelle Wernert, Program Manager Telehealth, went into detail on Providence Health eXpress and how it is a value-add to individuals that need medical services.

In recent years, more and more people have access to technology and they are using it to the fullest extent. This means that if somebody can access medical attention through technology, they will take advantage. This is especially true if traveling. After all, who wants their vacation interrupted due to illness and not wanting to spend a few hours in a waiting room and then opening up their wallet to pay $200+ for services rendered?

Health eXpress is a web enabled platform that allows providers to:

  • Discuss symptoms
  • Diagnose conditions
  • Prescribe medications
  • Manage care more efficiently
  • Direct to emergency care, if needed
  • Provide affordable and timely access to care

How does Health eXpress work?

Patients access care by logging into the website or going into a physical kiosk. Their electronic medical record is charted in Epic and can be sent to the patient’s primary care provider. The patient receives a diagnosis, summary of items discussed, after-care instructions, information on medications, educational material, and follow-up calls and care, if appropriate.
